Wu jun 吴軍 (莊嚴) • china

Wu Jun was born to a family of musicians in Beijing, a family that moved to Shanghai when he was nine years old. Working in a wood carving factory at 16 was the early training that paved the path to his successful art career. In 1985 Wujun was admitted to the Oil Painting Department at the Academy of Fine Arts, and upon graduation participated in the 7th National Fine Arts Exhibition, in China.

Wunjun explored other art forms like video, sculpture, stage design, and advertising. He also continues to participate in numerous group and solo exhibitions.

Art organizations and individual collectors at home and abroad collect many of his works.

From 2010-12, Wujun exhibited his works in Hong Kong, the Amsterdam Art Fair, The World EXPO at the Italian Pavilion, Holland International Contemporary Arts Fair and the Australia-China Contemporary Artist Exhibition. In 2013, Wujun also exhibited at the 44th Switzerland Basel art fair. More recently in 2014-15 his work can be found in exhibitions in France, and China.

Wujun continues to push his creative limits into a new era and dimension. He is currently exploring works in paper and ink and metalwork.
