Asian Contemporary Art Exhibition, promise to be beyond bamboo & panda:

An exquisite collection of art is about the relationship between nature and commerce. Using the ancient technique of Chinese brush painting, modern digital painting, iconic images of nature and financial newsprint, combined to create this stunning collection. The compositions contemplate the role of nature in contemporary culture, as consumption increases, what gets devoured?

Born: 1979, in CA. Live and work in San Francisco. Phillip Hua is a first generation Vietnamese-American artist living in San Francisco. Growing up in San Jose, CA, he witnessed fields and hillsides vanish into strip malls and office buildings. The once unknown city of San Jose would soon develop into the technology capital of Silicon Valley. But where he had lost the childhood memories of his natural setting, he gained the infusion of technology into his art practice. Hua studied illustration at the Academy of Art in San Francisco and has also studied at the San Francisco Art Institute. His works had been exhibited widely in the United States and Asia Pacific. He also teaches Digital Media at the Academy of Art in San Francisco.
