"Representational Art" usually refers to artworks that are recognizable for what they purport to be. Such images need not be true to life, but it must represent or be recognizable. There is no absolute distinction between abstraction and realism. One can say that representational art includes all imagery which represents identifiable objects include portraits, traditional landscapes, paintings of everyday scenes, historical or mythological painting, still lifes and of course various types of the figurative and equestrian statue.
